The Power of a Good Logo
By Diana Plesa
Do I really need a good logo? Can’t I just create and run a business without one? This is one of the most common mistakes among small business owners when it comes to making a public presence and growing their business. Many people don’t see a need and hence are not convinced about the significant role a logo plays in pushing a small business forward into expansion.
In most cases, you only have a nanosecond to grab someone’s attention with your marketing. You better make it the best and most effective. Using a clip art version or just any other ineffective, meaningless logo will not get people’s attention. Only a unique quality logo makes sense for making a perfect brand identity of your business.
A well thought out and designed logo gives an impression of professionalism and attention to details. A professional design shows that you care about your business and take pride in everything your company does. This in turn, shows that you will give the same professionalism and excellence in the work you do for others. Your logo is an overall image of power, quality, seriousness and professionalism. Hence, choosing the right colors, type, design and font will make all the difference.
A good logo takes thought and development to make it consistent with your company branding. It is usually the first image people see when they interact with your company. Therefore it needs to speak your company's core message.
A good logo consists of these 5 elements:
* Simple to allow for easy recognition * Memorable so that it stays in people's minds * Timeless in order to still be effective 10, 20 and 50 years from now * Versatile in color or black and white, blown up or sized down * Appropriate to what the organization does
